Bonita woman faces aggravated Child Abuse charges after baby in her care is
seriously hurt

LEE COUNTY, FL  –  A 5-month-old baby boy has severe brain damage, and a Bonita Springs woman is facing aggravated child abuse charges after the infant she was watching for a friend stopped breathing, and a medical exam found he had suffered extensive internal injuries.

Maria Antonio-Jose, 24, was arrested Saturday and remains in Lee County Jail on $200,000 bond.  Her arraignment will be July 9.

The Florida Department of Children and Families has opened a child protection investigation into the incident.

“We have not had prior involvement with the child or the alleged perpetrator,” said Natalie Harrell, spokeswoman for Suncoast Region of DCF.  “At this time, as the investigation is ongoing, the information we can share is limited.”

A Lee County Sheriff’s Office report said the baby was left with Antonio-Jose on May 15 while the mother, a friend, went to work.  At noon Antonio-Jose called the mother and told her the baby had stopped breathing due to choking on milk.

The sheriff’s report said Antonio-Jose’s husband also said she called him at work and said the baby had choked on milk and wasn’t breathing.

The infant was first taken to North Collier Hospital and then transported to Golisano Children’s Hospital in south Fort Myers. He was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, extensive retinal hemorrhaging, ripped right retina, considered to be in a persistent vegetative state and was not expected to recover.

Examination of the child also found that the injury was not consistent with choking but rather with severe child abuse.

A sheriff’s report said the child protection team at Golisano described the brain injury as the result of a rapid acceleration/deceleration injury which, according to medical dictionaries, can be caused by blows or vehicle crashes and results from the abrupt movement and deformation of the brain in the cranial cavity.

Treatment was withdrawn Friday and the infant was transferred to hospice care.

More doctors testify in Child Abuse trial

Washington County, TN  –  More doctors testified Thursday at the trial of a Washington County, Tennessee man accused of shaking his baby so hard it caused serious injuries.

Day two started with Dr. Melinda Lucas, one of the doctors who first analyzed 7-month-old Jaden Whitaker, taking the stand for cross-examination by the defense.

The defense tried to create doubt, but after looking at test results, and since Jaden had no prior health issues, the doctor ruled out the theory of a bleeding disorder or stroke, staying with her original conclusion.

“In your professional opinion you said this was a shaking injury,” defense attorney David Robbins asked.  “Acceleration-deceleration, shaking, yes,” Lucas, a pediatric intensive care physician at Niswonger Children’s Hospital at Johnson City Medical Center, testified.

Dr. Lucas was one of four doctors who testified for the prosecution.

Next to the stand was Dr. Anna Kosentka, a child neurologist from Knoxville.

She told the jury her initial examination showed severe internal brain bleeding and retinal hemorrhage, something very unlikely for an infant to experience.

“Most of the time this is a non-accidental trauma,” Dr. Kosentka said. “Sometimes we see this same form of injuries when a child is in a car accident.”

During testimony, doctors came up with similar conclusions, and said one explanation fits.

“Something happened to this child in the form of shaking, acceleration-deceleration force, effecting his brain, causing this bleeding,” Dr. Kosentka said.

Whitaker’s wife is expected to testify Friday.  The defense is still deciding if Whitaker will take the stand.

He’s charged with aggravated child abuse, a crime that carries anywhere from 15-25 years in prison.

Walking Pneumonia?
But I Couldn’t Get Out Of Bed

Hello, I hope each of you are well and preparing for the time to think of others who are less fortunate than ourselves.

This is not the time of year to be pulling up lame, I have dedicated my life to doing all I can for others.

The Adverse Childhood Experience study of the 1990s proved that child abuse is strongly linked to drug addiction, mental illness, violent crime (both as a victim and a perpetrator), poverty, cancer, diabetes and heart disease.  In other words, the most pernicious and costly problems in our society.

This year alone, 10,000,000 young people, ages 13 to 24, will contract ONE (1) or MORE STI or STD.

Victims of Child Maltreatment and/or Trafficking have almost no hope of staying straight or away from the Sex Industry, due to the fact that not one state has viable LAWS in place to provide Safe, Protected Housing, On-going Counseling, Support Groups for as long as needed, or Guaranteed Continuing Education for these Dear Child Victims.

ARK OF HOPE FOR CHILDREN is the 24/7, Caring People that have dedicated their lives to giving these Children their lives back.

“Breaking the chains for those victimized as children by human trafficking, child abuse and bullying to lead survivors into lives filled with faith, hope and love.”

Ark of Hope for Children is empowering advocates and donors to bring care and awareness to those victimized as children by human trafficking, child abuse and bullying.  Ark of Hope is a human rights umbrella organization using a trauma informed approach to serve survivors through our various programs.

This approach acknowledges that traumatized people often respond to daily life quite differently even years after their traumatic experiences ended.  If we can address their trauma, we can change lives.  Unconditional Love, Understanding and Mentoring Support can empower victims to mold the challenges of their past into hope filled futures as thriving survivors.

I am very proud to say that We Give to this worthy cause, because I see every single day, the fine, selfless work these caring people do.

I want to ask everyone to open your hearts, and your pocketbooks, and join with us as We Give to ARK OF HOPE FOR CHILDREN.

Intervention is needed by these victims, join with us in giving this Holiday season, to ARK OF HOPE FOR CHILDREN.

No Tears For Real Issues

Stop Child Sexual Abuse, Will Our Children Ever Matter?

Our Children Are The Real Losers

With fewer jobs available than at any other time in the 20th and 21st Centuries it is only a matter of time before the average American Lemming awakens to the fact that the biggest non-issue at this point in time is WE THE PEOPLE.

At a time when the average American Family could have benefitted from lower prices, instead we are forced to bear witness to more frivolous, out-of-control spending, sending the National Debt higher and higher by the second, just to pay for one non-issue.

What can’t be covered-up for long is the ever so obvious COLLUSION necessary to cover the Climate Change trail of lies, while so many happy little American LEMMINGS rode on the bandwagon to the tune of their crying hero playing his fiddle, as Rome burned.

Little did we know that the tears of COLLUSION that could be traced back to under the tables of Insurance Providers, on to under the tables of the Pharmaceutical Companies, and at some point coming to rest under the AMA’s table;  would be found while following the quickening pace forward again, as the happy little American LEMMINGS ran faster and faster to catch sight of their glorious now-crying hero as he fiddled louder and louder…. for he had finally found the CROCODILE TEARS TUNE.

The good part of it all is that very little COLLUSION is needed to add a bunch of numbers from totally irrelevant categories to make the Gun Violence Non-Issue into a make-believe issue.

How do I know this????  I am a farm boy, so a laughing wolf isn’t hard to spot even when he is wearing a crying wolf’s clothing while playing a fiddle…. BUT, I CARE, so I know how many suicides there are, and it is very easy to spot a number that is a fabrication made of at the very least 65% suicides.  But then I know that Law Enforcement numbers have to be added too.

SO, before the little happy LEMMINGS start to drown in the great flood of 2016, as the crocodile tears rush to the swelling waters of the oceans already overflowing from the NON-CLIMATE CHANGE, here are some very real numbers which apparently mean nothing to the crying hero playing his fiddle, as Rome burns.

  • 2,000,000 Runaways last year.
  • 1 in 6 Runaways will fall into the hands of Child Sex Traffickers.
  • 333,340 Child Runaways fell into the hands of Child Sex Traffickers in 2015 and were raped, then forced into Child Sexual Slavery.
  • 11 to 14 is the average age of Child Sex Slaves.
  • 3 to 7 years is the average life span of a Child Sex Slave (found dead from attack, abuse, HIV and other STD’s, malnutrition, overdose or suicide).
  • 10,000,000 Children and Young People 13 years of age to 24 will contract at least one or more STI or STD this year alone.
  • 35% of teens ages 14 to 19 have Human Papillomavirus.
  • 3,200,000 adolescent females are infected with at least one or more STI or STD.
  • 25% or more of new HIV diagnoses are young people age 13 to 24.
  • Over 47,000 prescription drug overdose deaths in 2014.
  • 7 deaths a day related to alcohol use.
  • At least 9 and more probably 13 Child Deaths daily from Child Abuse.
  • 78,000,000 Babies murdered to date, while many were under-the-table abortions performed on 11 to 13-year-old Child Sex Slaves in Our Country.

Roanoke Memorial staff said the child had retinal hemorrhaging, which is commonly associated with “Shaken Baby Syndrome”

SALEM, VA  –  Newly released search warrants detail moments leading up to the death of a 3-month-old child in Salem.

Salem police have charged the father, Jwawn Lamont James Sr., 41, with abuse and neglect of a child, and aggravated malicious wounding.

According to court documents, on Wednesday, Nov. 18 Salem Fire & Rescue along with officers from the Salem Police Department responded to 1016 Homestead Dr. in Salem in reference to an unresponsive child.

Upon arrival, police interviewed the child’s father, James, to determine the circumstances that led to the child’s state.

James advised to police as he was carrying his daughter into the home he tripped at the front door and dropped the car seat/carrier.

James indicated she was not strapped in, which caused his daughter to fall out of the car seat/carrier and on to her face and head.

James said he then picked up the child, checked to make sure she was OK, and placed her into the bassinet while he took a shower. James told police that after getting out of the shower, he found his daughter unresponsive and called 911.  James said he proceeded to shake his daughter due to her being unresponsive.

The 3-month-old was transported to Roanoke Memorial for treatment.

At the hospital, detectives spoke with hospital staff regarding the child’s condition.  Roanoke Memorial staff said the child had retinal hemorrhaging, which is commonly associated with “Shaken Baby Syndrome”, a collapsed lung, and head trauma.

Roanoke Memorial Hospital staff advised the child’s injuries were not consistent with the manner in which James provided that they occurred, and more likely the result of child abuse.

As a result, detectives requested to search James’ residence for any evidence related to abuse.

Things searched for:

  • Any and all seats, swings, and/or bassinets that the child may have been placed-in to include the padding and bedding commonly associated with these items
  • Any and all documents related to the care of the child such as hospital and/or doctor records
  • Any and all throw-rugs and/or mats located in the entry way of the residence
  • Any and all medications appropriate to be administered to a 3 month old child
  • Any and all pacifiers and/or other soothing devices
  • Any and all devices such as bottles or spoons used to feed a 3 month old child
  • Resident searched: 1016 Homestead Drive in Salem – single story ranch style home

Also, detectives have seized three cell phones – a Samsung Galaxy, Kyocera, and Motorola Droid – for the search and forensic analysis of the electronic devices and storage media for digital/text pictures, call logs, SMS messages, contact and videos.
