AG Paxton’s Child Exploitation Unit Arrests McLennan County Man for Possession of Child Pornography

AUSTIN, TX  –  Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that the Child Exploitation Unit of his office arrested 53-year-old George Henry Gemmell, of Hewitt, Texas, on five counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony.

Child Exploitation Unit investigators linked Gemmell to an IP address for a device that was used to share child pornography.  A search of Gemmell’s home turned up numerous images of child pornography on his desktop computer.

During an interview, Gemmell, who works as a security guard, admitted that he downloaded and viewed child pornography.  Several digital storage devices were seized from his home for examination by the Digital Forensics Unit of the attorney general’s office.

Attorney General Paxton’s office works to protect children by using the latest technology to track down some of the most profoundly evil predators online.

Since its inception, the Child Exploitation Unit has made 324 arrests and obtained 567 convictions for possession of child pornography.

Attorney General Paxton urges all parents and teachers to become aware of the risks children face on the internet and take steps to help ensure their safety.

AG Paxton’s Child Exploitation Unit Arrests Williamson County Man for Possession of Child Pornography

AUSTIN, TX  –  Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that the Child Exploitation Unit of his office arrested 44-year-old James Scott Scruggs, of Leander, Texas, on three counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony.

A CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® (NCMEC) alerted the Child Exploitation Unit to Scruggs, who was reportedly uploading child pornography to a social media account.

While executing a search warrant at Scruggs’ home, investigators from the Child Exploitation Unit found photos and videos of child pornography on his cell phone. The Office of the Attorney General’s Digital Forensics Unit seized several digital storage devices for examination.

During an interview, Scruggs admitted to investigators that he downloaded, viewed and uploaded files of child pornography.

AG Paxton’s Child Exploitation Unit Arrests Sabine County Man for Promotion of
Child Pornography

AUSTIN, TX  –  Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that the Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) of his office arrested 60-year-old John Max Walter, of Hemphill, Texas, on one count of promotion of child pornography, a second-degree felony.

A tip from a social media networking site to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® (NCMEC) led CEU investigators to Walter, a former volunteer firefighter for the city of Hemphill.

During an interview, Walter admitted he uploaded an image of child pornography to his social media account and sent it to another user.  A search of his home turned up digital devices that were taken for examination by the Digital Forensics Unit of the attorney general’s office.

Attorney General Paxton’s office works to protect children by using the latest technology to track down some of the most profoundly evil predators online.

The CEU proactively seeks out and arrests predators who commit crimes against children using technology and online sources.

Attorney General Paxton urges all parents and teachers to become aware of the risks our children face on the internet and take steps to help ensure their children’s safety.

Child Pornography

AUSTIN, TX  –  Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that the Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) of his office arrested 42-year-old Jessie Eugene Nalley, of Barry, Texas, on four counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony.

A CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® (NCMEC) led CEU investigators to Nalley, who admitted to possessing child pornography on a cell phone and uploading images to an online account.

During a search of his home, investigators seized multiple digital storage devices for further examination by the Digital Forensics Unit of the attorney general’s office.

AG Paxton’s Child Exploitation Unit Arrests
McLennan County Man for Possession of
Child Pornography

AUSTIN, TX  –  Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that the Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) of his office arrested 59-year-old Eddie Dwayne Pratt, of Robinson, on three counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony.

Acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® (NCMEC), investigators from the attorney general’s office searched Pratt’s home, where they discovered images of child pornography.

They also confiscated multiple digital storage devices, which will be examined by the Digital Forensics Unit of the attorney general’s office.

During questioning, Pratt admitted to possessing child pornography.
